This past June, after months of pain I decided to see a doctor. He concluded that I had to have my gallbladder taken out. After a conflict on scheduling and changing jobs and what not, I was strickin with a bout of pain that almost kept me from breathing a few nights ago. I decided to revisit the surgeon, and was informed that if I did not take care of this soon, laparoscopic removal would be out of the equation and I would end up in the emergency room at 0200 in the morning being fileted like a fish to have it removed. So.......next Thursday the bugger is coming out. I will be interested in again experiancing a life where eating supper dosent mean hours of pain and nausea.
My wife was in the hospital last week for a gall bladder problem. A stone was blocking the pancreas, causing inflammation. Wednesday morning to Friday night. Second time she's had an attack, but it's the first time she was kept for observation. Not a whole lot they can do about it right now. Gotta wait.
That's what my wife had last week. Pancreatitis. The docs wouldn't let here even drink water. Had her on an iv for all of Wed and Thurs. Finally had some food Friday morning. She got off lucky too. Her mom had it years ago, she couldn't eat anything for a week and a half, stuck on an iv.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers guys, I do appreciate them. Joe I will keep your wife in my thoughts as well. I will update this thread after it is done and am able to get back online (4-5 hours? LOL). It seems like a pretty straightforward procedure with a quick recovery.
I had my gall bladder removed in May 2007 by lapararoscopy. They pulled it out through my belly button.
The recovery was only a few days but the first day was tough. They use CO2 to inflate the torso so they can work in there with the tool and scope equipment. The gas slowly 'bleeds out' the day after the procedure. It's quite painful in the shoulder area if/when you sit up! The gas migrates up into the shoulder area and causes quite a stinging sensation.
This was all done after I was in the hospital for a week after a gall stone blocked the duct from my pancreas to my small intestine. Pancreatitis is extremely painful.
I hope it goes very well for you Bryant!! I hope it goes very well for your wife Joe!!
Well, done and done. The stones were so big they had to be crushed before they could take them out. Still drowsy and waiting on my wife to return with my meds, than I will be going to bed. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Freirefishing, I am sticking to soup, yogurt and jello today I think chicken fried steak will be first on the list. I have already put the order in with the wife. If not that fried seafood, something fried darnnet. Rockstone, I do have pictures taken before and after they were crushed as well after the whole thing was removed.
