'67 240ci carb diagram?

Hi all,

Does anyone have a scan or link to a diagram of the single-barrel carb used on the '67 6-cyl 240ci engine? (i.e. an exploded view of the carb)

Mine's sprung a leak so I need to dismantle and clean it - it'd be nice to have the diagram handy though just in case! Probably a punctured float, or something blocking the float valve - it was sitting at idle and died on me, with gas in places that there shouldn't normally be gas :-)

p.s. was this carb used on any other Ford engines for other vehicles? Maybe that'd give me some other places I can search if nobody here has the diagram...

cheers

Jules

Answering my own question, but I found the following which was close enough:

Carburetor Factory - Ford F-1 Exploded View

... same basic type, there's just a few extras in that diagram.

I took the carb apart and there was 40 years' worth of accumulated gunk in the float chamber and valve assembly. No holes in the float, so I cleaned everything and reassembled and ran things for 30 mins or so with no sign of any problems (so far!).

cheers

Had you not solved it yourself,i would have suggested getting a manual for it,it will come in handy! also a carb rebuild kit should have a diagram for disassembly and reassembly purposes

Yeah, it's on the list to do - I just need the truck for Saturday morning, so the diagram was a bit of an emergency request! I suspect a carb rebuild wouldn't be a bad idea some day though (although maybe it'll wait and I'll do the whole engine in a few thousand miles...)

cheers!
