I've never seen the FL1995s for more than $10 at Wally World. The FL2016s for the 6.0s are like $18 or $19...

I use Napa (wix) on the truck - I get fleet price for them. I use Fram on the Mercedes. Someone on the Mercedes forum cut a bunch of filters open. A lot of cotton gin waste in most of the filters. The Turkish made Frams have spun yarn-like fibers in it (Mercedes old oil filters aren't spin on). Pep Boys used to have 2 Frams for $7. I bought all I could every time they ran the sale - they always looked at me funny getting $24 worth of filters for $7!

If you even have a chance to cut apart a fram filter... i did it once and it looked like they were using toilet paper to filter....

I have been using Wix for oil and fuel filters. I do like the fact they are made in the USA instead of the China Fram filters.

I wouldn't put a Fram filter on my truck or car ever again, unless it's all I could find, and I would get rid of it asap. I have seen too many technically sound articles over the last many years on mustang and ford truck forums that say they are junk to ever use them again. I have been using Napa Golds (which are made by Wix). They can be had from fleet filter for pretty cheap, especially if you buy a few at a time. I have been using regular (non synthetic) Shell RotellaT 15W40 and having Blackstone do my used oil analysis. They have been impressed with my oil to the point that I am doing 9,000 mile oil changes with no ill effects and that is with no other external filtration. I would say that, that right there is all you need to know about how good that Napa filter is. I am getting ready to make the jump to Schaeffers full synthetic here in a very short while. I don't think I will ever have to change my oil again if I keep using the Napa Gold's J/K.

Right now from fleetfilter.com, Part Detail the Napa Golds are $11.28 each plus shipping. If you get a bunch, the shipping comes down. It's well worth the piece of mind to me to pay a little more and know I am getting good filtration.

Thank you sir, I think I'll be ordering some from Fleetfilter......The worst part is I just did an oil change this past weekend, with a Fram.......Guess maybe I'll swap her out when the new ones get here..

Baldwin makes the Motorcraft filters (great filters). Napa (Wix) are good too. I grew up on Fram and used them until I got my rig. That's when I learned about the differences between the filters and I will never use Fram again! I use FMC filters now (can't beat $9.95 at Wally World). I've been a Shell Rotella fan until recently. I just got a good deal on some Mobil Delvac Super (dino) and, maybe it's all psychological, it seems to be running a little better than it did on the Rotella. It could also be the fact that since I was switching brands I pumped down my HPOP reservoir (for the first time) and filled it with Mobil. Man that Rotella was B-L-A-C-K in there!
