Fram filters have had a bad reputation in the past. I don't know how good their products are now.

For more info than you'd ever want about oil and filters, check out Bob Is The Oil Guy

For what it's worth, I use Purolator Pure One filters. At one time they were the 'best', i.e. finest filtering ability. They used to be a pretty metallic blue color, but the new ones are yellow-gold with a really nice grippy texture.

I use Motorcraft filters. Always have -- never an issue. And they're $9.99 @ Wal-Mart.

Ive used fram before, with no problems, but with all that Ive read, I dont buy em unless I cant find anything else.

I use napa, so far so good, and i use them on my dump truck, backhoe, honda civic, and case lawn tractor, and all have been fine, so far!

$5 off a filter isn't worth my engine. Not saying a Fram filter will cause some kind of failure and I'm sure the Frams will work, but I don't mind spending money on good filters. I also only run syn fluids -- every vehicle I've owned reacted positively to them, so I'll stick with it.

I usually use Wix. I changed my oil last night and used a Motorcraft filter. Like Joe said $9.97 at Wally World

I buy them at Walmart also, I will say that the price changes from store to store $9.99 to 18.99 is the price I have seen.
