axle type?

i have a 94 F150 XLT 2wd auto. I was wondering what type of axle i have on my truck. i looked on the axle and it said H9 and had the following numbers: S947F 3L55 88 4F13. I am planning on putting in a limited slip locker, but im not sure if this is the best route to go. I plan on a 6" superlift suspension lift and 33"x12.5 BF all-terrain ko's. i want to do some non-serious fun mudding and need to know if this is a good set up for what i have in mind. any help would be great and also i am conserned about money so am air locker is pretty much out of the question (im a college student if you follow me) Thanks

It's most likely a Ford 8.8 rear end. Doeas it have a removable rear cover on the diff? Then its a 8.8.

"H9" = 3,800-lb. weight capacity, 3.55-to-1 ratio,
open rear. One of the cheap, "lunch box lockers" would be the way I'd go.

Your rear axle should be a 31 spline. Its a good solid axle,I would suggest a tratech gearless locker.They are fairly smooth, have good traction indexing, affordable, easy to install, and come from a very reliable company.Later,

30 SPLINE!! If you've got 31 splines your lucky, because they came with 30 from the factory, even on the tow package.
