A/C Controls

Why is it that everytime I start my 2004 F-150 SCREW Lariat I have to select the recirculate button for max a/c? Is there something I'm missing with this automatic climate control in the manual mode? Thanks.

By the way I think that it is strange to see Hummer ads on a Ford Truck forum.

if i am understanding your question correctly, max a/c works by recirculatiing the air already in the truck therefore the recirculate button lights up

Yep, max a/c works when you select the recirculate mode of operation. It just doesn't stay "engaged" so that the next time you start the truck it is functioning. On the system I have the button doesn't light up but an icon on the display does.

i see, that is normal, max a/c shuts off when u turn the truck off and you have to put it back on

I am assuming that you have the ETAC climate control, but the unit automatically uses MAX A/C until the set temperature is reached or at least close to it. It will automatically switch to "normal" A/C after that. The MAX or recalculate button is there so if you want to manually set it to recalculate and have it run that way all the time.
