Call Mech. I remember him tearing through some axles a couple years ago, but seemed to have it fixed.

A mildly 'built' (good axles and locker) Dana 80 will be more than enough if he's just making 700.

The street isnt usually enough to break stuff either, normally you are already rolling when accelerating and not being a total goof-off like you would be at a track where you can transfer alot of torque through the driveline in a second from a stop. Or pulling, when you have all the engine's torque working against the dirt to break things. An option would be to run less grippy tires, but if you've got the power to spin over agressive tires, do it.
