May be a little late here, but my vote is for the 4.5 Icon setup - about $2,700 done right. I currently have a 5.5 fabtech that that reminds me of the back seat of a 1977 school bus. Kids have to wear helmets and my kideys are beat to death. Gutting it and have already ordered the icon kit after months of research.
6" Skyjacker with 22" I love the ride quality and the look. I have pulled over 10k with this lifted truck for 7 years and as long as you spend the money on a hitch and correctly adjust it you should be good. My .02
Thanks guys all of the Excursions look great. Wilson & Co my Excursion is the same as your 05 black with the 6.0L. I have a 03 f250 with the 6.0 and it is not lifted and has 35's so I hoped by putting a lift on my Excursion I could go bigger then a 35. But I guess not and the only reason for lifting it is so the Excursion will look even better. I tow my boat once every 2 months maybe. It is a 32ft center console and is a pain to pull due to towing laws here in NC. Hey ECA what size tires and rims do you have on your excursion? And how much can I expect to spend on lifting my excursion 6in. Does anyone know. Or do I not want to know.
How wide are your rims and can you post a picture looking down the side of your excursion. I want to see how far you tires hangout of the wheel well.
Bluedog
Can you post a picture of your excursion with the 5.5 fabtech lift. I was just quoted a price on that lift yesterday and not sure if I want to go with it. Just wanted to get an idea of what it would look like.

Thanks Guys
not telling you what to do, but didn't you see he mentioned it rode like crap !@!
I saw that but I have heard good and bad things about fabtech lifts some I am still not sure which lift to get. But a hard ride to one person may not be a hard ride for the next person. I have always had trucks that ride like trucks hard. So I am still checking things out. I am now trying to figure out what size rim to use. I know I am going with a 20" rim but not sure how wide. I want the tires to stick out some but not to much. Maybe hang out the wheel well about 2in to 3in.
I just pulled the trigger on the Icon 5" all spring kit with all the options. After reading everything for a year and 1/2 that was my decision. We'll see how long it takes to install and if that decision was the right one for me.
Having bottome out the front end on railroad tracks once I don't think I'm heading in the wrong direction.
The freight truck just dropped off a pallet of parts which is my Icon kit. 5" all spring kit, dual front shocks with hoop, adjustable pan-rod bar (a piece of art!!), dual steering stabilizer, etc... More stickers than you can shake a tool box at, oh yeah.
I have never seen a nicer, more rugged kit that is packaged so well as to protect all the parts. Very professional. And worth it.

BTW- My alignment after the lift install was almost dead nutz on!
