allows the injectors to open faster and stay open longer. Thus more fuel is allowed to enter the combustion chamber

Where might one buy this type of resister? It seems kinda difficult to find one. This isn't a Radioshack part.

No it should not hurt mileage at all. Just makes for better throttle response and a little more power overall

its not for the faint of heart. its tinkering with smal circuit boards...the samllest hiccup measn bye bye idm. i am going to get the idm out of a superduty, i thikn they are 120 or 130 volts. there is an article on this mod in the newest diesel power. they claim dyno resuslts of 15 hp and 20 ft lbs if i recall

I have run all three IDM's in my truck. Stock, 120 and modded. Unfortunately I have not gone from stock to 140 in the same step but I didn't notice any difference between them. I have also run a 100 in a SD for testing and noticed no difference. If it were me I would buy a SD IDM as a spare and mod your stocker to run. After doing the mod (nearly having a heart attack while doing it!) I would not want to do this mod with out a back up plan of some sort. Either a spare IDM or another vehicle you can run until you get another IDM in case something goes wrong.
