so pics would help
thanks in advance
people have installed them in the ashtray as you described. the other popular space is that little plastic panel immediately to the right of the headlight switch.
If I ever put any on this truck, I'll probably get some OEM looking one off a Mustang GT and put them below the Radio on that panel that has the cigarette lighter
they sell LED's and other stuff. they have a nifty little rocker switch that is made for a Scion, but could be easily adapted to fit out trucks (aka, cut a square hole in dash)
I hid my switch for my fog lights in the hole under my cd player. ( I have a aftermarket one so there is a nice gap under there to put stuff in. ) Plus it looks cool at night because my switch lights up blue.
I have my main amp turn on/off switch, my subwoofer amp on/off switch, and dvd 'black box' on/off switch all mounted in the black plastic panel that also houses the switch that turns on/off the rear backup sensors and the cig lighter. The switches I used are from Osmium and are small round rocker switches with an led light (avialable in different colors: main amp is red, sub amp is green, blk box is blue). Switch run about $3. You can see them at: Round Rocker Switch. Here's my set up: 1) back of switches, 2) panel out, 3) all buttoned up (sorry for large images).
