Thats exactly why I love my 67 as well. The **** style heater is very cool....
That is also exactly why I made specific mention of still having my radio trim plate.

I know the Dents had the holes in the doors even if you didn't get the deluxe stereo radio.

Not exactly sure but I own a '71 that was all origninal and it has no speaker holes in the door.

I remember my old radio in the 72 unfourtnatly it bit the dust and we had to get rid of it now there is a piece of base board in the hole where the radio should go sad really. But now you have got me curious my 72 didn't have the speakers mounted in the doors instead behind the driver in which the speakers stuck out about 10 inches from the cab is that stock? Becasue my dad seems to think my grandpa put those on as an aftermarket touch.

Speakers were only put in two places on these trucks; AM radio trucks had the speaker in the dash, AM/FM optioned trucks had the speakers in the doors.

Hang-on 8 track stereo tape player / 1968/72 F100/350

Speakers in the doors were not just for AM/FM radios.

Ford offered a hang on 8 track stereo tape player 1968/72.

C8AZ-19A035-A .. Stereo Tape Player Kit / Use without floor mounted manual transmission shifter.

Fits: 1968/72 F100/350 / 1968/71 Galaxie/LTD / 1968 Mustang (without console) / 1968/70 Falcon (without console) / 1970/71 Maverick.

F100/350: Two different speakers and grilles were used 1968/70, different speaker/grilles used 1971/72.

2) C6AZ-18808-B .. Speaker-Door Mounted / Use with hang on stereo tape player / Fits: 1968/70 F100/350 / Various passenger cars.

2) C9ZZ-18808-A .. Speaker-Door Mounted / Use with hang on stereo tape player / Fits: 1971/72 F100/350 / Various passenger cars.

2) C8AZ-18978-F .. Grille-Radio Speaker-Door Mounted / Use with hang on stereo tape player / Fits: 1968/70 F100/350 / Various passenger cars.

2) C9ZZ-18978-A .. Grille-Radio Speaker-Door Mounted / Use with hang on stereo tape player / Fits: 1971/72 F100/350 / Various passenger cars.

Bona fides:

Hang on 8 track stereo tape player listed here: 1964/72 Ford truck parts catalog / Text / Section 182 / Page 21.

The Hang-On 8 track player was a dealer installed option though, wasn't it?

And I know the Am/Fm stereo was a Factory Option.

Still that would make a few of those speaker holes at the bottom of these doors, "bona-fide".

I don't recall, but since it came as a 'kit' only...you're prolly right.

F Series: There were three additional kits, Two contained the speakers and grilles and were specific to the years the parts were used, the other kit contained the wiring.

By the way,i asked the Ebay seller about this radio, and he never even bothered responding! that says something about his business practices..... the way Ebay uses buyer feedback now to rate sellers and structure seller discounts,if he has very many unhappy buyers,he will be getting his own medicine shortly!
