Brady...you are living in a dream world if you think most peeps know what these AM/FM radios look like. Most prolly don't even know they existed.
what i ment was that if someone is going to go looking for a OEM radio for a 72 ford truck they would have looked into it enough to find out what they look like and what the other ones look like so they know if they are getting the right item, just because you never saw one new doesnt mean that you dont know what it looks like before you pay $300 for one...
Thats exactly why I love my 67 as well. The **** style heater is very cool....
That is also exactly why I made specific mention of still having my radio trim plate.
Thanks, I thought that was the case, but thoguth I'd make sure. In the 71-2s I assume that they had speakers in the doors?(since its stereo.)
I know the Dents had the holes in the doors even if you didn't get the deluxe stereo radio.
Gabe
Not exactly sure but I own a '71 that was all origninal and it has no speaker holes in the door.
I remember my old radio in the 72 unfourtnatly it bit the dust and we had to get rid of it now there is a piece of base board in the hole where the radio should go sad really. But now you have got me curious my 72 didn't have the speakers mounted in the doors instead behind the driver in which the speakers stuck out about 10 inches from the cab is that stock? Becasue my dad seems to think my grandpa put those on as an aftermarket touch.
Speakers were only put in two places on these trucks; AM radio trucks had the speaker in the dash, AM/FM optioned trucks had the speakers in the doors.
The Hang-On 8 track player was a dealer installed option though, wasn't it?
I don't recall, but since it came as a 'kit' only...you're prolly right.
F Series: There were three additional kits, Two contained the speakers and grilles and were specific to the years the parts were used, the other kit contained the wiring.
By the way,i asked the Ebay seller about this radio, and he never even bothered responding! that says something about his business practices..... the way Ebay uses buyer feedback now to rate sellers and structure seller discounts,if he has very many unhappy buyers,he will be getting his own medicine shortly!
