I have a 2005 f-150 street boss with 79000 mile, and it is shooting off going down the road, and the check engine light is flashing. The first time I started it back up and it would idle fine, but the throttle wouldn't do any thing. After setting about 15 min. I started it up and it ran good. I checked the codes and it had a p2104 Throttle acturator control system forced idle. It happened again with my wife. This time when I checked the codes it had the p2104 and a p2112 throttle actuator control system stuck closed code. Does any one have an idea what could be the problem, or a troubleshooting guide I could use to try and diagnose it. Thanks
I had the same problem with my f250. Take the throttle body off give it a good cleaning and a new gasket and you're good to go. Maybe took me an hour to complete.
I just went through this EXACT same thing. It was the Throttle position sensor shorting and causing the truck to go into failsafe mode and forced idle or shut off completely. Throwing codes 2104, 2111, 2135. The TPS is on the passenger side of the TB. Two screws secure it to the TB. You don't need to replace the entire TB. Pull the TB, clean it really well, replace the TPS and re calibrate the TB.
