Unhappy Throttle work some off the time.

Hi, I have a 05 f-350 with the 6.8l engine my problem is you start the truck it runs good till it warns up ,the problem is that the throttle will start getting choppy & will idle ruff or stall & then you will end up with no throttle movement at all. if you come back later it will work for a short time then the same thing. The truck has no codes at all but,

I see that TPS is only reading 78 present on my scanner at full open throttle.(reading with engine not running.)The ETC is opening the throttle plats all the way.

If I unplug the tps the pcm seams to default to 100 percent for the tps reading on my scanner, it then did give me a code.

I think the TPS should be at 100 present at full Throttle if I'm right? (and its not with the engine not running)

The ETC seams to move at same rate that the accelerator pedal position sensor is moved when operated. So I think they are OK.

I think that the tps may be the problem but not sour . Dues any one have any ideas.

Dale

They also have an IAC (idle --?--- control) if idleing rough or bad this can be removed and cleaned with carb cleaner I have read,,,your TPS also sounds like a culprit,,,Have you checked the Mass air flow sensor,,,some say Gently cleaning the thin wires with a Q-tip and cleaner can help !

I agree both may be an issue (IAC and TPS), but I bet the TPS is the cause of nothing more than an idle.

This truck has no iac set up on it, it has no Throttle cabals. The throttle is run by a etc dc servo called electronic throttle control winch run 100 present off the pcm. & is responsible for the idea and driving throttle control. got new tps going to put it on now. will get back to you on this if it fixes the problem.

Thanks

Great that it is fixed but strange that the values really did not change when repaired.
