The seal between the trans and the transfer case maybe leaking, this would account for it being overfilled. The fuild comes in from the trans, because the seal is leaking. Has you transmission been low on fluid? I have had this happen to me on 2 trucks I have had.
Nope, trans fluid level has been steady. Like I said in my earlier post, the fluid that came out of the transfer case wasn't red or even dirty red for that matter, it looked like used motor oil, maybe very very slight hint of red.
It can only be 2 things, fluid from the trans, or water from being submerged. It could have been overfilled from the factory, but that is highly unlikely, know about the equipment they used to fill fluids in the plants. The only thing you can do is change the fluid, and open up the fill plug ocasionally and ck the level. If it is overfilled again, it has to be the trans seal.

I know its not water from being submerged because I've owned it since new and its never been in water that deep.
