I replaced mine with a NAPA belt(twice) but theres a problem somewhere....something keeps causing one edge og the belt to get chewed off!
That would be your tensioner pulley. If they are older and get bent just a touch it will cause your belt to rude up on your AC pulley and wear at it. Happend to mine about 3 times. Tensioner is cheap, one bolt.
On the belt issue - the cheapest one you can get! Inspect regularly and keep a spare with an alternator.
I had a problem with the gatorback on my truck and a few other instances of it have occured. The belt will resonate between the alternator and the p/s pump. Some other belts have been know to do it but the gatorback is just especially flexible.
FWIW, I have the belt I used breifly if anyone wants it. I'll never use it. A friend of mine said I should keep it in the truck incase mine were to break, but honestly, I've never had a belt break and if it would break I'm sure there would be another reason for it.
