Yeah, only carlite has rights to the actual etched glass. The link i gave was a decal thing that went on the inside of the windshield....but nothing beats the actual windshield

As stated, only a Carlite will have the "Super Duty" in the glass. And it is usually an addtional $150 to get the Carlite when we install them. However, if insurance is paying for it, might as well ask for it. But if you don't ask, you will get the cheapest one the glass shop can find/locate.
Bringing up ole thread again for a question.......
I've got a chip and wiper scratch in the windshield of the truck I just bought .
Got a quote of $160 for top tint and $250 for OEM Super Duty lettered screen installed , are there any aftermarket companies making the SD windshield ?
For the visual clarity alone, I would pay extra for factory glass. That, and add that the passenger airbag uses the windshield as part of the structure to deploy from, and I wouldn't trust anything but factory. I saw a windshield recently installed into a BMW and it had really inconsistent thickness, and it was supposed to be OEE or Original Equipment Equivelant. BS. Not even close.
