Why put one on the inside. We can make one that gose across the whole top of the front windshield that will look awesome. That is what I put on my truck. When I get home I will post a pic of it on here so you can see what im talking about. being on the outside wont hurt your wiper blades any. I have had mine on there for almost 2 years w/o any problems.
Personally I think decals on the outside look cheap. They don't give the OEM look as they don't reflect light like the rest of the glass so it looks like what it is, a sticker. They fade, chip, and start to deteriorate. The OEM is printed on the inside of the glass and isn't visible as well, but I think it looks good. That's why I said stick it to the inside to make it look as close to OEM as possible.
I'd wonder how a decal on the outside would stand up to the ice scraper trying desperately to scrape ice and frozen snow off the windshield up here in the snow belt...

I wasn't talking about for an OEM look. Yes if he is going for an OEM look then the option that I would look at is getting a new glass with the OEM style superduty. Yes vynil will fade in time (ours is an 7-10 year). I havn't had any problems with mine gettting chipped or deteriorating.

Why would you scrap the top part of your glass? Like I said before mine has been on the glass for about 2 years now with no problems. Its gone though a lot of high pressure washes, and so forth. Still looks brand new. I thought I was going to be home today, but I wont be till tommrow. I will post pics of mine when I get home

I clean off my truck as complete as I can... a large chunk of ice blowing off the top of my truck at 70mph can do some damage to a vehicle behind you...
ok I can understand that. We dont ever get Ice in TX. I dont think you could scrap over the sticker without doing some sort of dammage to it, but then again I made mine alittle big and the wiper blades go across the bottom of it with no problems or dammage. Wouldnt there be ice on top of the truck too and down the side of it. Do you also scrap it off to keep it from blowing off a 70 mph too.
here is the sticker on my front glass. its not super duty, but it is an idea of what im talking about. If you look it has derricks, and pump jacks in it along with a bob wire fence and the sun comming up. I work in the oil field so that is why we did it like this.

edit...ok idk, I paid for my membership today. I guess it dosnt work yet. but if you go to my gallery there is one of the front glass, as well as one of our logos on the back glass
I recently had the front windshield replaced in my 05' - the installer asked if I had the "Super Duty" emblem on the front of the glass. I said no, he said he could install it at no extra cost so I told him to go for it.

I'm guessing you went with an aftermarket glass. Only Carlite has the Super Duty printed on the glass. it usually costs a few $ extra for it but not much. The rest are aftermarket stickers/decals.

hey no prob, just reminding you southerners that are are northerners here on FTE
Yes I do try to get everything I can even off the roof. Its not that hard with a ice/snow scraper with an extendable handle. I dont worry to much about the roof though. The windshield os most important obviously. And probably more of a reason than what I said earlier, if you dont clean it off almost entirely the wiper blades will ride over it and then your wipers wont be against the glass completely and in no time you wont be able to see. I have been on the recieving end of a large chunk of ice blowing off a truck... luckily the way it hit it just skidded along the roof of my car and took out my cb antenna as opposed to a verticle surface like the grille or something.
