Does anyone know what it would take to use eshaver's 50' car trans in my 48 truck.. (tail housing differents ?). Will any of the internal part interchange ?

The input shaft is a different diameter, and the output shaft on a car is longer. You could swap the gears into a truck tranny case. BUT.. in the '50-'51 timeframe, they made some changes internally, to both, and unless they are both the early style or both the late style, nothing will interchange. This is true even going between two truck trannies. The major change is in the angle of the splines on the output shaft that 1st gear slides on (helical vs straight splines). Yours being a '48, there's a chance the '50 would work.
Hey all, I'm building a 1949 Ford F1 and having a problem finding a standard 3 speed top shift transmission. I'm running the original flathead. I know where I can get a 3 speed with cast number T87D-1. I know it is a heavy duty application but will it bolt up to my flathead. Does the T87D-1 use a 11" clutch and pressure plate? my bell housing is a 10". thanks for your info Bill
