c00n ICP mod / EOT mod combo
I've been playing with the ICP mod and now with the EOT mod and I have a couple of questions.
First I have a '97 F350, PSD Crew, 2WD w/SRW & Auto. I have A cali. FPR spring kit installed and 6637 air filter.
I started with a 10k on the ICP and didn't see a dramatic difference. I went to 13.3k then 14.7 with better performance with each. With 15.6k it seemed to bog a little nearing 3k rpm, so 14.7 was the best.
I then started the EOT mod and with 3.3k I was able to run the 15.6K ICP with much better results and even went to 18K. Seems OK, so I went with 4.7k on the EOT. Runs fine. Motor seems to idle fine in all tests.
Questions:
1) What are the dangers of going too far with the EOT mod?
2)While I am getting better performance, I get no black smoke or other dramatic results some have reported. Is this because of my stock exhaust restrictions? ie flat DP, cat etc.
Thanks
PS: I have no pryrometer or boost gauges yet.

Ok, first off, your EGT's are probably quite high. mine went to over 1300 with the mods in my sig.
Too much advanced (EOT) will mean your engine wont fire up when cold, and may become less efficient.
Im not sure why youre not getting black smoke, Maybe because of the timing advanced you did. I can roll da coal...

What is the EOT mod?
I have the same truck basically mine's a 97 Stroker F-350 E4OD. I have a Bully Dog 6 position switch. With this chip there is no need of doing a ICP mod is there? Or no doubt I would cook it if I tried doing this? I don't have gauges yet either. Only thing gholding me backj is my pocketbook.

the eot mod advances injector timing.
as for no smoke some of it may be the cat eating it up, but each truck repsonds a little different. the 4.7k is perfectly fine for the eot mod. going larger shouldnt have much affect on it. the computer will only advance it so far. all the 4.7k does is make the computer think the oil is colder than it is.

i have both on my truck. i have a 20k on icp and love it. i switch to a 14.7 while towing so i really dont worry bout egt's (unless i'm playing in town) lol but the cat is holding your smoke. when i had mine on the truck never smoked even after the mods. but now i have stacks and can get a steady haze if i'm really into it

Thanks guys for the info. I'll put a 3" DP on it when I get a chance and get the kitty to puke it's guts out while I've got the exhaust pulled back. The smoke is not a big deal but I just want to know where the limits are. Seems like if you get smoke that's when you start to work on the air flow again. Hadn't though about the CAT actually doing it's job and sucking up the smoke!!
