Ok guys, lets sit back and grab a cup of coffee (I'd say a beer... but Im not sure a Sunday morning is the best time for that )... and wait to see if DP has anything to say. I can certainly understand your frustrations.

Now as for the OP.... a few notes. I head up the customer service area at our company (amongst too many other titles...) and I can certainly understand your frustrations. Note that while they said they would call you back.... stuff happens. I have been so busy, that a call just falls off the radar. I am not admonishing DP at all, but you should have followed up with another call a few days later. Had they ignored you a second time.... yeah, you have reason to get fumed.

As for the price discrepency..... I cannot comment since I do not know the particulars. It could have simply been that the operator looked at the wrong pricing column, didnt not factor in some piece.... or sadly enough these days, a shipping cost spike (UPS is adding ~20% fuel surcharge AFTER the fact... sucks for those of us who ship and have to factor that into our sales).

Again.... Im just shooting in the dark here, but lets allow cooler heads to prevail and see where it takes us.

It seems to me here an important question has been missed. What was the original price quoted, and is it what is listed (or even close to) on their website? Because they do list tuner prices on the site ya know. I do, I was just looking to order one recently.
In my humble opinion, if your BIL thought he was getting a great deal way under the new price quoted, and this is their normal price, then tough crap! If there was a general price increase in effect *after* an actual order was placed, then maybe you have something to gripe about, though I'd tend to agree with others, that it's better done with the vendor that on a forum like this.

Let us know what the facts are please, 'cause I'd like to order mine (from DP) soon.

Cheers, David.

Roger,

I apologize if you have had trouble getting through to us. This week has been a little out of the norm for us. With a company with only 2 people here to anwser the phone, pack orders, process them and take care of all business needs it gets tough when 1 of you gets sick. Last Friday Jody went to Chicago to tune a truck. He started to become ill on the plane. By Monday he had lost his voice. He did what he could to call people back but by noon most every day this week he could not be understood. His voice was gone. He also had to deal with people who had not done what they were suppose to a garage we are building and it had taken some of his time up early this week. I do what I can, but everyone wants to talk to Jody. I do remember talking to someone this past week about their chip order that Jody had misquoted. He quoted an order for standard tunes and it needed to be custom tunes. Jody had talked to them the previous week but he didn't remember them having injectors and what not that requires custom tunes. I did discuss this with Jody about him misquoting the chip order and he said he would take care of it early this week when his voice returned. To end our crazy week we had a local get together we were sponsoring on Saturday that we spent all day Friday getting everthing ready for.

If there is ever a problem we can be reached by 2 email's available and pm's. Some times when people call us they press 0. 0 takes you to our personal voicemail and that is never checked because all of our friends and family call us on our cell phones. I have checked all of our vm's, there are no blinking lights on our phones and I could not find a message from you from this past week. If you did leave a messge you will be called back.

Diane

I can't explain the pricing problem, but at least he called back.
I will look into this because that definately doesn't sound like Jody. Jody responds to all of his Vm's and emails.

It is the responsibility of the consumer to tell the vendor about tactics that need changing. DP Tuner, as I'm sure with any business, wants to make customers happy, and tearing them apart on the internet isnt going to help anybody. They are just trying to do their job.

If you have a problem with a vendor, bring the issue up with management. Any decent business will work to resolve the problem. As far as the mistake of price, that is what it is. Mistakes happen. If for some reason I say I'm gonna sell you a wind generator for 5$, doesnt mean your gonna get one for 5$. However, If it was a minor mistake, I would suck it up to follow my word.

Thank you. We have been in business for 12 years. DP is not the only business we have had and solely operated. We have always done the work ourselves and it has worked even with DP-Tuner. We are by no means perfect and we know that we can not possibly make evey one happy, but we give our all best to try to and in the very end if someone goes elsewhere because they feel we are ignoring them then that is something we can't control. Jody and I have not had any family time off with our kids since we took off the week before Smokin 2008 in April because of how busy we are. We are fully deditcated to our business. It is our only income to support our family. We would not jeapordize that by ignoring our livelihood and I will not hire someone just because 1 or 2 people can not get thru to us on the phone. We have mulitple ways of reaching us.

Diane

Thanks for stopping by Diane, I hope Jody gets to feeling better. For most of us, you didn't need to defend yourselves. More than enough of us have dealt with you guys with very good results. I will be calling soon about more upgrades and will do so with the up most confidence in your company. I have seen to many positive stories and happy customers to allow one bad thread change my opinion. Thanks again for what you do and what you have done for this forum.
