Got a deal on a 04 F-250 SD V10 need advise

I found a 04 F-250 SD V10 w/ 55k, Lariat leather and straight. Price......
12,500.00 Carfax Clean. Deposit placed, question is do I have to worry about plugs blowing out? Do I need to change them out to a different brand to prevent blow out? Any other suggestions to prep for towing 2 horse goose neck? Is there a particular brand plug that is best to prevent blow out? Any other tow prep advise you offer would be appreciated. I have a B&W turn over ball ordered and a drawtite controller is already wired in the truck.

Sounds like a good deal. Make sure the tranny shifts firm under throttle.

I do not know of any 04 with the plug issue. (I own one)
I have maintained a fleet of V10 from 01~08. I can only recall one failer on an 2001.

Some others know for sure the years for the plug issue but I remember something about from 02+, your ok. 04 should definetly be out of the range of bad plug threads.

If the maintenance records, if available, don't show a tune up, it is getting do. Try to at least get a plug change out of them.

I don't use the motorcraft plugs. Haven't noticed any difference in driveability or reliability between those and the certain other plugs I've used. (autolite double platinum, bosch platinum +2) The current Bosch +2s I have in it now have been in for 30K.

Brand is not a reason for the plugs to blow out (Three of mine that blew were the originals). The condition of the threads is a big issue but the main one is the torque that the plugs are tightened to. My EVTM states 22 ft. lbs. which is waaaaay too much. I believe the current "safe" torque is 11ft.lbs.
