older bed

i hang out in the 73-79 forum usually but i heard there was a guy in here that has an 80s truck and a 70s bed adn a different clip on it....they thought his name was psycostang...any help findin pics?

His is an 85 with a (i think) 90s bed and front clip.

I've seen the 70's and 80's beds swapped, but tend to look off. The body lines don't match at all.and the fenders will not bolt to an 80-newer truck at all. The hood mounts to the cab on the 80-up as well, not the inner fenders. Now, you could definitely put a newer bed on you 70's truck, just will look very much out of place.

You can also put 1973-1979 Bed Sides on our 1980-1996 beds without too much problem, with a little fabrication.

The floor and inside walls of the bed hasn't changed much since 1973.

I have an 85 truck with a 95 front, 90 doors, and a 93 bed.

I have seen an 80-86 truck around town with a 73-79 style longbed on it. It just doesn't look right, the lines are all wrong.

I have a friend currently attending WYO tech to learn body repair and painting. We he gets back he owes me a paint job.

It will probably be flat or matte black with some minimal graphics. It's a work truck so I want it too flashy. I have to pay for supplies, but he's doing most(all) the work.
