Steering Gear Box Seal

I replaced the seals in my 78 F250 4x4 Gearbox and it had sat for awhile before I actually got to test it out and just shortly after running the power steering pump and getting things primed, testing it out it was working fine, but all the sudden the lower pitman arm seal started to leak heavily. What would cause that to happen other than a bad seal to begin with or improper installing? Like I said, the steering felt great until the leaking. I'm hoping to replace the seal again and everything will be OK.

Did you replace all the seals and related parts that come in the sector shaft seal kit, or did you replace just one seal?

There's a bushing on the shaft at the bottom inside the seal. It's known for wearing out and taking the seal with it. I have seen replacement bushings that were longer.

So, I finally got back to replacing the pitman arm seal. The pitman arm was a bear to get off (even with a puller), but I managed. When I had help replacing it before, I swear I put it together just as it was taken apart and what I found was in order from lower to upper was, snap ring-dust shield-smaller silver bushing (larger I.D.), black thicker (smaller I.D) bushing, and seal. So, like a dumba$$ I started to replace just as I took out again and then figured I better re-check and found out that's probably not the right order and why the seal blown in the first place. What exactly is the right order?
