Same block, well no actually. A 390 has a 4.05" bore and a 427 has a 4.23" bore. Do the math......that's a .180" over bore and there are maybe 1000 390 blocks in the whole world that can be bored that far. So the answer is.......NOT GONNA HAPPEN! I had a 390 HP block (that's a 375 horse High Performance block) from 1962 that I was able to bore to 4.13", thats only .080" to make a 406. But any newer 390 than about 1969 just isn't gonna work and very few earlier ones either for that matter.
Is this Post/thread a Joke? Or what ? the one kid talking smack and doesnt even have a clue!! and the other one doesnt say squat about his 460 ? I think they would be better off useing email to one another..
Certainly got some edjumicationnnnnn to catch up on. Maybe it's the ebonics but me thinks 15yrs or so old... or thats the age when the pot smoking started lol
