I'm trying to convert my auto hubs to manual on my 86 Bronco. The manual hubs do not seem to be sitting in far enough. I put on the conversion kit. However the hubs do not go in far enough for the snap ring to sit in the groove?
Should this installaion be done with the tire on or off?
Can the outside housing be removed to make installation easier?
you are talking about the stub shaft snap ribng arent you????? i dont run mine with it on and i wheel my truck about every other weekend sometimes more. so the hubs are engaged regularly. i seem to have no troubles. i have two freinds that coulnt put them either and same result. the large snap ring in the hub itself will hold the hub just fine.
