I got a pair of locking hubs, I think they are the warn cheapos, off of an 87 suburban, according to warn they should fit my buddys 78 bronco. The stub shaft on the bronco doesn't stick out far enough to put the snap ring on, not even close, and the slug doesn't sit into the hub far enough for the locking/unlocking mechanism to function right. What the heck...
I just installed a set of Warn Premium hubs on my 77 F250. The warn instructions said that the axle retaining ring will not install on some Fords to include mine. The axle retaining ring did not install but my Warn hubs work just fine.
I actually prefer my stock spicer hubs to warn premiums, they are simpler and I've never seen a broken one. As for my buddy he just bought a brand new Buell and is quite interested in cheaping out haha, I don't blame him, nice bike though.
Yep just push it out and itll go just put a pair of premiums on my 85 and they work great. I also put a pair on my 76 and they also work great 169.99 for a set at napa. I only put the warns on the 76 cause I had a wheel bearin blow and it took out the hub with it.
I'm not concerned about putting the snap ring on, The problem is that the main part of the lock out doesn't fit into the hub far enough for the **** to unlock it. I got a set of spicer/ford lockouts though, they should work.
