What do I have?
I just bought a 76 Highboy for my husband. This is what I can find from crawling under it, but what does it all mean. 76 type 261 Tranny "A", Axle code 24J; 3550 lb Front Axle and 4660 lb Rear Axle, 235 four speed with 205 xfer case, 6 lead spring and made in Michigan. Also, I want to have it painted, whats best an original factory color for that year, or just my personal favorite?
Where can I find out what factory colors for that year. Help, this is all new to me, but I want to do it right.

Enter the info from your driver's side door panel and you should be able to find out most everything you need. As far as the paint colors go, I suggest going to Ebay and doing a search for an original sales brochure and that will have in it the colors for your truck.
