So for the obd 2 system i probably wouldnt notice enough horsepower, torque and gas mileage gains to spend that much money i take it then

Not likely.

If you have an automatic tranny, invest some money into tightening it up, as mentioned earlier.

I agree about the tranny. My Impala with 127,000 doesnt feel anywhere near as powerful as a Impala with 80,000 on it. It is because of the tranny (it is on its way out the door). It is amazing how a nice shifting tranny will make your car feel 100x more powerful.
