after a quick thought her's my opinion on the splits, i would say split vs single gives no more power because of that fact alone, the sole reason for the splits was emmisions and to quiet the motor some. if they are out of a 00 up truck you may feel a little more power only because they flow 120 or 130 cc's, but without programming it wont be much difference, just a little because your pcm thinks they are 90's
i cant ever remember. but i think splits on singles are good and the opposite runs funky. you could always get a split chip burned and throw it on your pcm.
Splits shot injectors (AB 120cc or AD 140cc) will run on single shot programming. From what I hear single shots won't run on split shot programming. Currently I am running AD's on single shot programming. It runs well. But power wise it would benefit from split shot programming. I have a few quirks that I am not sure what they are causes by. One is the lope idle that I have (see Truck video in my sig.) its not caused by the transmission range sensor so my next guess is that its a by product of the programming/injector combination. it only does this idle everynow and then with the 1K resistor I have in the ICP like the 10K mod. Also I have an issue when returning to idle after a long high speed (highway) run. It will either dip way low in the RPM (400 RPM) or sometimes stall. This is either tha coast clutch in the tranny not releasing when it should (I think it the tranny and not option 2) or its the injectors/programming.
I have a set of injectors that are waiting to be built into some stage 1 single shots so I will be changing out the split for some singles and will know more then. so yes splits can and do run well. But with the addition if DIY-injectors.com it makes the upgrade hardly worth it.
Also splits shots make less power and less mileage when compared to the same size single shot because the pilot shot doesn't make any power its just an emmissions and noise control.
i have also ran split shot injectors on single shot programming with out problems. After switching to split shot programming i did pick up some fuel mileage though.
