Knock on wood, mine has never thrown a code. I just removed the heater and the power cable from the solenoid. Every winter the truck sees temps in the minus teens to twenties. So for me, I don't see that the code eliminator is necessary.
Unless you have scanned them, you'd never know if the code was there, you won't get a CEL with this one, it only throws a soft code. Mine is there when I scan it......it's harmless though, the system is just recognizing when you remove that heater.

I don't have the AutoEnginuity, but I believe that if the PCM cannot "read" certain circuits, some of the tests will abort. The code is a soft code that doesn't set the SES light. I don't get the codes anymore with my code eliminators for the EBVP, AIH, and WG Solenoid deletes.
