aih plug

aih plug

i've heard you can use a cummons drain plug for an aih delete,but what year and what is the plug for on the cummins?

oh i don't remember, just went to NAPA and asked for a cummins oil pan drain plug. someone will chime in with correct info.

just ask them for a drain plug for any 5.9 Cummins, I spent like 8 bucks at Napa

found it it's a napa part # 7041378.havent bought it yet but i found that number in another thread.

you can also get it from your local quickie lube place, it is an M22 plug.
if you have a drill press and a tap then you can drill it and put a 1/8th NPT fitting in it for a boost reference
here is mine

This is a cheap mod to pull the Air Intake Heater (AIH) out of the intake plenum and cap it with a plug. The heater coil doesn't do much and it is seen as a restrictor for air entering into the engine.

Really, there is a air intake heater? That's odd, what's the point of an intercooler if they want the air to be hot. Sign me up for the removal list. I'll be looking into this.

Oh and what do you do with it now that you have it plugged? Just zip tie it somewhere or disconnect it?

The heater itself is on my workbench. The wires are disconnected per the instructions I posted from Dieselsite. The relay is still on top of the engine but not doing anything.

The directions are on that dieselsite link, it's very easy.....at MOST a 10 minute job

It is now your spare GPR, pre installed, just waiting for you to swap the wires when needed.

I used mine the same way Brandon did as a Boost gauge tap.
