Only thing I see is it will cause the relay to pull in when the conditions warrant it.

No. As long as the wiring going to the AIH is removed, you're good. You will get a soft code, without the AIH load, but can be remedied with a 470 ohm (1/2 watt or greater) resistor run from the relay "out" to ground. The resistor acts as a load for the relay and fools the PCM in thinking that the AIH is still coonected.
I was thinking about removing the relay completely. I'm a minimalistic kind of guy. But after reading this, I think I'll just keep it as a spare, or just remove it... Crap! I guess I'm still undecided.
