Okay... here is the low down. My buddy bought a switch off e-bay for his 99 7.3. Well it gave him good results so I tried to wire one on my 97 7.3. Can someone tell me exactly what this is doing??? I know nothing about electrical so I am in the dark. I know that with the switch in the on position the idle is slightly higher and my truck runs ten fold better. I drew a picture so show how it is wired. Not the best but hopefully someone can make heads or tails of it!
Thanks!!!
Edit... looks like I can not post attachments so I will describe the best I can.
Okay it starts with a four post 12v/30a relay. Of the four posts two of them connect together and form one ground wire.
One post goes directly to the blue/red wire of the fuel pressure switch.
One post goes to a toggle switch with a 4.7k resistor in it.
From there the other side of the toggle switch runs to a potentiometer.
The second side of the potentiometer runs down the the throttle pedal. It connects to the plug with 2 wires and hooks in to the wire with a 12v source.
That is a fancy 10K mod. Its tricks the computer to think the ICP (injection control pressure) is lower than it is so the PCM increase the pressure with allows more fuel to be injected. The fancy part is that its switched (relay, the mod turns off at idle so you don't get a rough idle known with the mod) and adjustable (potentiometer).
You have NEVER called me back when i left you a voice mail.
