How do you take the ignition switch out of a 77 f150 custom?

Always disconnect the battery first. If you insert the key and move to accesory there should be a release pin on the face to remove it.

Turn the key counterclockwise and pull the key and lock assembly out of the switch. The removal of the rest is start taking this apart till it comes out

I took it out, And now I can't get it back in... I tried outting it back in the exact way I took it out, And it gets 25% of the way in and just stops.

Could anyone tell me what this is used for? It is labeled P2, But as you can see, There is a connector on the Ignition Switch, But there is no slot for it to go into.

I think you have the wrong Ignition switch as P2 was used on newer Diesels.
How ever you should have a P and this would be the Proof (or PROVE OUT) terminal for the dash lights.

Really!? But my key fits my Ignition and the door locks too, If it was a different switch, My key would not work on the doors, Right?

How is all of this working if you can not insert the the plug onto the Ignition Switch?
