my hubs are stuck in the auto position. I did the vacuum leak check today. i put the ac on max and put in 4wd high, the ac then switched to defrost like you guys said would happen with a vacuum leak. So my next question is.. which way is the best to go with this problem. If i fix the leak I will need either rebiuld the hubs and hope it dosent happen again, OR buy the WARN premium hubs and plug the line like I have read. So I am leaning towards the WARN hub idea. Now do you guys have a link and or pictures to show where to plug the lines etc and what to do wo get the Warn Hubs installed. I just want this fixed once and forall. Thanks Jeff
Check to see if you have a hose in either wheel well kinked, twisted or flat out torn loose. That's the cheapest fix. Next fish around under the hood to see if any lines are broke there - more unlikely but rule it out. Just because your hubs are stuck and won't turn doesn't mean that you discovered the vacuum leak. But you need to get them freed up. Use these directions to clean them:
or replace with mentioned Warns. (I had no vacuum leaks but replaced my hubs b/c I was having frozen hub problems.)
The other possibility is that the yellow o-ring inside your front wheel assembly is the cause of your leak. If you decide to keep your OEM hubs and fix the o-rings, follow these instructions:
