I,m gonna try a ceramic coating on them that Mike (Tenn01PSD350) suggested in an earlier thread. Something about keeping the cold air side cooler. Gonna do a search on that thread..
you dont want to do that either! i tried it and it looked great until it started rusting. i then realized i polished all the protective coating off. you guys should just get them powdercoated. check these out....
Yeah those look darn good. How much for powder coating?
I just used some standard blue spray paint that I had on my garage shelf. I don't even remember what kind it was, but I do know that it wasn't meant for that kind of heat.
Why didnt you do the compressor manifold in the center too?
since i have 2 sets of i/c pipes i wanted to try them both on and find a nice color that would look good with both orange and blue pipes. i was thinking maybe black but......

I did mine with candy apple red auto paint..looked good for a little over a year but started to crack..when I ceramic coated my bellow up pipes I also re painted my IC pipes with ceramic paint..if you do it....scuff the pipes up good so paint will grip on and use the 2100 degree ceramic primer and paint and bake it...will keep heat out much better and wont scratch up so easy when installing... here is a look of my under the hood..the HPOP reservoir ,alt and AC pump is painted with hammer gray paint..I have since done the lug wrench with it too.. red lettering is with touch up paint.. IC pipes are red ceramic..the spider and valley are orange 1200* engine paint..valley can be seen if you click on pic and go though album..the spider I will repaint with ceramic some day..
