Intercooler pipe paint
Hey all I am getting ready to start taking my intercooler pipes and boots off and I want to reach the boots and clean and paint the pipes to match the theme I'm going with.I was wonderig whats a good way to paint them so they don't look cheap and chip down the road?

I painted mine a few years ago and they still look new when they're cleaned up. I used a paint that is made to be sprayed directly on aluminum or other shiny metals without primer so it leaves a metallic shine. I believe its called Metalcast, just clean the pipes really good and wipe down with acetone and you should be fine. I love how nice painted ic pipes look under the hood. You can prep and paint your turbo spider too...

I painted the Al IC pipes and intake manifold on one of our other diesels with this stuff (thermal cure): John Norrell Arms
Three years later it still looks great and is very resistant to damage. No flashy colors available though.
