Intercooler Hot pipe paint
When you guys painted your intercooler pipes, what kind of paint did you use?

any kind of engine primer and enamel... i think i used 500 degree but not sure. But it hasnt flaked yet so im happy
Edit: Used Ford red of course too

Thanks guys I really need to repaint mine because it has begun to flake off.

i used brake caliper paint. i'll actually probably repaint and clear them, so they stay shiny, like i did on my dad's 6.0.

Primered mine first, usually a good idea anyway.

It's probably a good idea but I didn't. I roughed it up with steel wool.

You can use high temp powdercoat too.

You shouldnt need high temp paint for the IC pipes should you?
I left mine "aluminumized" in color to prevent further mainteneance.

i don't think high temp paint is necessary, but i used the brake caliper paint cause it get's pretty hard and fairly chip resistant (even though i managed to chip mine when wrangling the turbo in and out). i also feel safer spraying some degreaser or brake kleen when i clean up the engine bay.

you dont want to do that either! i tried it and it looked great until it started rusting. i then realized i polished all the protective coating off. you guys should just get them powdercoated. check these out....
