Well, anyway, there was this dude that night that had a late 80's cheb 4 door dulley that was absoluty stinking fast! I may go out on a limb here and say that it was running with the 2 99 Lightnings that were there...memory fades me...but he was fast! Was an awesome site to behold....even for a cheb....

>Well, I'm in Buffalo NY , brings back fond memories of that truck, it was a cheby but it was a long time ago so you can't hold that against me!! It's true some of my friends drive chebys
Well I got a little tale to tell you from the good old days. I had this 86 F-150 4x4 Inline Six 300 with weber carb, custom exhaust, borg warner t-18 granny low tanny, borg warner t-case, 4.10 gears and 32x11.5x15 tires. Well i was givin my buddy a hard time saying my truck could beat his 90 Eagle Talon with the 2.0L Turbo AWD damn fast cars top out at 130mph stock well he got mad we went to the local straight strech where every body drags and well i knew i was gonna lose so i thougth id give her everything i had i knew the AWD would kill me so i thought why not put her in 4x4 so i did. I reved it up to 6000 rpm put it in second let the clutch out a little bit so the t-case chain was tight so it didn't snap and when he said go i droped it thank god it was a ford the thing snaped forward so hard i thought id hurt my neck well he beat me by a foot on the line as soon as i got going i poped it back into 2wd to keep all power to the rear tires and i kept up with him side by side till 60mph and when it got to 70mph the truck ran out of breath and he took off. He got out of his car and was like oh my god time to put some money into my car i was like why he said anyday that old ford can keep up with me till 60mph its time for some engine mods. Not bad if you ask me.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it make more sense to go find a classic mustang and race the ricers with that and leave your truck for the things that it was made to do, (ie..Offroad, hauling and towing.)
I have a 65 Fastback with a Modified 289 Hi Po that has never ever even come close to be beaten by a ricer.
Just my 2 cents.

That would be the logical thing to do but its so much more fun to see the looks on there faces when a big pick up has just kicked there A$$. Who in the right mind would wanna race a mustang in there honda whatever. but when they see a pickup thats about 10 feet taller then there truck with tires that tower over there car they figure its theirs, then again thats Ford power.
Lets not complain how we bet them just do it, wethier its a mustang, a f-150 or a mavoric, hell it could even be a superchicken, but as long as you show those little punks that american car (and trucks) are so much better than maybe we could pray they see the easy way to go fast. I read the information on how to "get in to the 15's" with a honda civic and i laughted cause they had to gut the interior and throw a ton of boost and NOx. And a mustang (non-gt) could kill that. So just bet the out of them, who cares how we do it.
I'd have to agree that its way more fun to beat rice burners with sleeper vehicles. Trucks...and my old lincoln. I miss that car. I had a 83 towncar that had a 350 horse 302 and that thing was fast. I loved pulling up next to a honda or toy and just roaching the tires for half a block. But i think even more fun than that was my S-10 race truck. A 450 horse small block chev motor that ran 12.1 second quarter mile times. That was a rush. But now i'm gettin depressed...had to get rid of both for college...and my truck only does a 0-60 time of like two minutes.
anyway....i want to put a V-10 in my F-150....than we'll see how it runs.
I love opening her up off the line and letting the 3" side exit exhaust scream into the drivers side widow of a ricer. I have surprised alot of rice burners. Althought I did race a WRX, I was wishing I still had my 351w bronco 4x4.
