Its called dynamic balancing... I know there are a few write up's on pirate... I dont really understand HOW it works but i just know it does.
Bb's
Sand
Ive heard of some kind of powder being used...
Airsoft pellets...
The only thing that jumps to mind, is bb's and rusting together, if the truck is left to sit for to long, i guess the bb's can rust together in a big glob, which could be very bad if you decided to hop in your truck and take off.
I've had bb's in mine for years with no issues. They do balance the tire but they can't do anything about a out of round tire, which they all are to some degree. All you can do is put some in & see if it helps. I probably have around a half a cup in each of my 42's.
Yea ive noticed my tires will flat spot after sitting... But once warmed up there fine... I got lucky... There not balanced and no media balancing... And no shaking
So I took the tire in to the shop today and put just over half a cup of bb's in tire. Put it on the truck and ran it in the air again and it still has up and down wobble. I wonder if I just need to run my tires on the street for a bit just to get them round again since its been sitting for just over a year. Tires are a 42 swamper TSL and they never vibrated when the truck was last on the road.
Might want to check worn parts steering linkadges, ball joints...
If it was fine when you parked it... The tires could have flat spotted... drive them a few mile say 5 or so, and see if it gets any better... They could have flatened out some... Some road driving could fix it....
I filled my 59" Extreme mega-mudmaster mother-mucker radials with popping corn, its the newest trick from the fertile minds of the Moab mall-crawler folks. it works like this, dump approx 4 oz of quality popping corn per each 2" of tire diameter over 38" of diameter(i figured 2-1/2 lbs for my application) i like Orville Redenbacher, and inflate to 30 psi, then drive 50-100 miles at freeway speeds which heats up corn to popping temp and distributes it evenly as it pops! not only do you get perfect balance, the popcorn holds the tire to the bead better than bead locks, which allows airing down for off-road usage, and also in the event of air loss, popcorn works like a run flat tire.... You guys here like to think of yourselves as off roaders, i'd a thought you would have heard all about this by now! im starting to question whether you guys here are real off-roaders,or just mall-crawlin wanna-be posers.................
