Spare tire for upsized tires

For the guys here that have replaced the tiny stock tires with larger ones, what are you guys doing regarding the spare tire.

I am running 295x70x18 (35") tires on my truck, but the spare that came with the truck is the standard Conti tire that is approximately 31.5" in diameter. A 35" tire won't fit in the spot for the spare under the bed, so the only option would be to carry it in the bed.

What do you guys suggest, stick with the small spare or carry a correctly size spare in the bed?

I run a 33" spare with 35's on the truck. It fits and is the largest I have been able to come up with out breaking the bank and still keeping it under the bed. Not sure if it will still fit with an alternate exhaust (say a 4" or 5"). It fits with stock exhaust. In an emergency, if a rear tire blows, I'd have to put the spare on a front tire, and move a front to the rear and limp off the road in 2wd. Any other time, I'd pick up my phone and call road side assistance and have it towed to a repair shop. I just can't live life in fear. It gets in the way of fun.

The truck has a 34.x" tire option and that spare will fit, so i'd suggest get one of those.
I have 35" tires on my truck and just kept the spare that came with it.

Looking up my tires online it says the are 34.5" in diameter when inflated. I have a tire with a cut in it that I ordered a replacement for, as I didn't want to drive around with a tire that had a cut in it...but I wouldn't mind using it as a spare on temporary bases. I've worn 4/32 of thread off the tire, so it would likely be 34.25" in diameter now. The truck is at the shop getting the new tire mounted, so I can't go out there to measure.

X3. Thats been my plan for the last 15 years of truck ownership with oversized tires. Bed space is just too valuable to give up.....

But arn't your tires on 20" rims, Your spare is on a 18" rim. Your cut tire won't fit on your spare rim, unless you buy an extra 20" rim

OH YA one more thing to remember..... If you have aftermarket rims you need to keep 8 stock lug nuts in the truck somewhere or you will not be able to use the stock spare anyway

Ran into this issue after putting 35" on my truck. I was going to buy and extra tire and rim and keep it in the bed but dealer says a 35" will fit on the factory rim and keep that in the bed instead. I also don't have to worry about the spare being stolen with a factory rim. Now I just have to sell my factory tires and rims to help pay for it all.
