overdrive switch not working

hello to all I have an 02' f-350 4x4 auto tranny and my overdive switch is no longer working. When I push the button on the end of the gear selector the off light does not come on and the tranny will not shift out of over drive please help thankyou Brandon.

The wires are known to wear and break. They are located in the shift lever itself and they tend to break right at the column.
