Mileage

Another ? what kind of mileage should a 01'f-350 dually crew cab 7.3 and 6 speed manual tranny get. towing a 7000 lbs. trailer thanks Brandon I noticed on a test drive that it was at about 2300-2500 rpm around 70 mph is that o.k.

I drop to around 10.5 - 12.5 hauling that kind of weight. At 2000 RPM's I am going 69 MPH with 3.73's, unloaded.

What Jeff said, 10 to 12 MPG depending on terrain and wind. with the 4.10 diff 23-2500 RPMs is about right for 70MPH

Hey Brandon, I haul a 7000# travel trailer and I got 10.5 to 14 mpg last year, depending on terrain, bone stock with 175,000 miles. (I too have an F350 4X4 CC with 6 spd) Doing some road tests showed me that I get optimal fuel mileage by setting the cruise at 2000 rpm, in fact when I increased my speed to 75 mph (2000 rpm = @ 68 mph) my mileage dropped a full 1 mpg. I've done several mods (6637, IAH delete,Zoodad, CCV) over the winter and am anxious to see if those make a difference in my performance and mileage.

Brandon, with my '02 auto i have averaged between 10.5 and 12 pulling a 15K 5th wheel. I would assume if you are careful, with a 6 speed you could do a little better.
