Well many times when you add a chip or bigger injectors the stock HPOP can't keep up with the oil demand. So you add another pump to keep up with the demand. There are quite a few options out there now for how to go about this but they all cost $1500-2500. I am cheap. So I am building my own that will pretty much be a copy of Swamps Gen 3 system. I was gonna build a copy of the stock pump inline but then found what I needed to build the swamps setup rather than getting a machine shop to build the adapter.
The Gen 3 setup consists of a International HPOP reservoir that also houses the gear drive for the power steering pump on the international truck. Swamps has a custom gear made to fit a hydraulic pump. I will just modify the gear I have to fit a standard Haldex pump then plumb it into the the stock HPOP. And I should be around $500 for the whole works.
