The E-series van has a different track width than the F-series truck. I have both and thought I'd just stick my spare '72 F250 front end under the '70 van so I could upgrade the van to disc brakes. Took some measurements...not gonna happen.
thats a shame since those econoline vans have some nice front ends on em. my passenger kingpin is worn out and its time for me to start thinking of upgrades as well.
Find a disc truck and swap the beams, proportioning valves, master cylinder...whatever you need to do it right. I've done the swap w/old Mopar a-bodies enough to say that be sure to grab EVERYTHING for the donor rig you might even think you'll need, clean and rebuild it w/good parts, and be sure to do it right. Save yourself some headaches.
I've done the disc swap on my 72 F100. I used the beams, spindles and radius arms from a 76 F100. It's a bolt in. You'll need to use the proportioning valve and master cylinder from the donor truck.
I got lucky with the donor truck as it had new king pins shortly before it was parked. I replaced all the bushings, brake hardware and lines while I was at it.
