i have a c-6 tranny behind my 460 it was rebuilt about 3 years ago and hasnt been ran a whole lot the problem i have with it is it doesnt take gear sometimes maybe 3 oout of 4 times when i drive it it takes it a while to take gear i mean like 5 minutes or longer gets very irritating at times.it seems to be worse when the temp outside gets cooler, ive takeen back to the shop that built it but it doesnt seem to act up when he has it there isnt that the way it always goes. i was told the band might need adjusting but not sure
The band is just for second gear only and the modulator just controls shift timing and feel.
Are you only having problems in drive? Does reverse engage on time?
If it has the same delay in reverse look for low fluid (check fluid with engine running in park, warm, on level ground).
If the problem is with just drive I would say that you would have a problem with the forward drum, like the oring in the drum or the sealing rings. The oring is known to turn hard and loose its sealing ability over time causing a delayed engagement when cold, and it can take a few minutes to warm up and seal to engage. I know you said it was rebuilt and only the builder can say if he replaced the oring, he should have. I have seen many different types of rebuilds over my time and sometimes people just replace the clutches and dont take the drums down completely like they should.
it doesnt take drive or reverse niether one ,so ill try to recheck the fluid level but it shift good and firm going down the road in all gears it has a trans go shift kit also thanx for ur help
