Code P0503
Overdrive light flashes, Speedometer Bounces around , and trans shifts different.
Keep Getting the code and replaced the VSS sensor and tested the wiring to the sensor. Does anyone know what voltage you are supposed to have at the sensor. My haynes manual told me 5 volts but I only have 0.3 volts. Also can the GEM be replaced because the more I look at the problem the more I think that might be my problem. And where is it?

yes it is a 4x4 and how would I check that drive gear? Take the trans apart or what. Thanks for the advice. Not sure what trans but its a 4.6L and I'm sure they only put one automatic trans in with that engine.

Remove the speed sensor and look inside the hole where the sensor was, there should be a gear in there. It should only spin with the output shaft.
If you can spin the gear remove the rear drive shaft and the small extension housing on the transfer case, inspect the gear to see why it loose from the shaft.
