EEC-IV Knock Sensor

The reference voltage on the IAT,TPS,MAP AND Knock sensors is 5 volts. I measured 5 volts on all but the knock sensor. My truck is so sluggish it seems to be running with the spark retarded which is what the knock sensor does when it senses knock. How can this be corrected. Is it a function of the computer to output the correct voltage. Do I have to replace the computer to get the correct voltage. The voltage on the knock sensor is 2.5volts.?? What would be the effect of disconecting it. I did and it realy didn't make a whole lot of difference.
