I don't get into any bidding wars on Ebay. I take note of the end time and go in and check just before that. As an example I got a new ICP sensor by waiting until about a minute before the end of bidding and bumped the bid the minimum amount. Didn't leave any time for anyone to place a new bid. $52.00 bucks for new ICP.
I set an alert in my cell phone calendar to remind me to go back and check an item right before close of bidding. I have been up in the middle of the night just to make that one bid on something I really wanted.
I don't do the ebay thing too much but not a bad idea if I really wanted the item. i think a lot of people do exactly what you describe.
I made a switch plate that fits inside the cubby hole. Takes up half of the hole, but I didn't use it much anyway. It is easy to remove. The left socket head screw is there for looks, but the right one attaches to a small angle bracket behind the plate that has a nut tack welded on. The angle bracket is permanently attached to the top side of the cubby. To remove all you have to do is take out the right socket head screw. I also left enough length on the wires so I could pull it out and swap out switches. The wires run out a 1/2" hole in the back of the cubby and then to the fuse panel under the steering wheel. There was plenty of room under there, so I could add a relay for each of the switches.
i have mine just like beerstalker's. i got the switches from autozone. if you use these, know that the blue led's are BRIGHT as all get out. i had to take out a paint pen and try to cover over the led (there is still a slight "ring" that illuminates) cause it is too blinding. i'm going to replace it with a red one to match the others. AZ only had three red and i thought they only illuminated when "on" but the ones i bought are lit all the time. they work normally, but i don't like the constant illumination.
Here's mine. Not a real good picture of the mounting though. I have them mounted in the fuse panel cover, in a piece of stainless steel that angles them out at the bottom so I can see them.

sweeeeet. where'd you get these? i really wanted this kind of rocker switch.
Kevin, if your lights are on all the time you need to move the hot wire around to the other terminal. They should only iluminate when on. Should have 3 connections move them around a little and see if it doesnt change for you.
