So I'm in the process of installing some driving and fog lights and I'm running out of room to do clean installs with my switches I got alot more things to install that need switches too. I was searching another forum and came across these cool items. Switches pictures from cars photos on webshots I was thinking of mounting them here.. Anybody ever mounted anything in the black area there? Those switches also come in a DPDT switch, which will work great for my lights and another for my EBPV brake. I'll also need switches for heated mirrors, back up lights and high idle (if i ever get around to it all). I'm waiting on the guy to get back with me on the size of the switches. Dont pay any attention to how dusty my truck is
Lee- my truck has a couple of switches mounted in that area, they are large-ish and square but look cleanly installed. If you want I can snap a pic later today.
That would be a big help Chase. Just to get a idea of how big your switches are. I thought those switches were cool. I think they light up too! Did you ever get your headlights straight?
Here is where I mounted 4 of my switches for my strobe lights. I love the way they look there and they work great.
The leds on the tips of the switch, I wired up so that when the parking lights come on they light up also but a little dim. Once the switch is turned on the led gets full power and it gets alot brighter. As you can see I burnt out the first led trying to find the correct resistor so that needs to be replaced eventually.
There is no model or part # on them that I could find, they just say "CARLINGSWITCH" on the sides with a "CH" logo on there. Just as a note- the switches in the photo are in the "ON" position- the lights do light up but you can't see it in the photos.
EDIT- still nothing on the lights- trying to find adjusters.
Thanks guys. Chase those seem to be about the same size as the ones I'm looking at. I like these for the fact you can get them specifically for what things you are powering. I SOMETIMES let other people drive my truck and it would be good for them to know what they are for. If it wont for that those smaller switches would be great. Still gives me alot of options to add things in the future though!
